ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME

Sofía Pérez is a fabricator, costume designer, and visual artist from the Dominican Republic whose work lives at the crossroads of fashion, fine craft, and storytelling. After earning her BFA in Animation from SCAD, she spent five years at LAIKA — one of the most demanding stop-motion studios in the world — building puppet costumes from first review through hero duplicate production, learning from some of the most skilled makers in the industry.

She is drawn to the miniature and the meticulous: the seam that reads on camera, the material that holds its shape under a lens, the detail that makes a character feel lived-in. Her curiosity extends beyond fabrication into experimental animation, illustration, and sculpture — wherever there is something worth making carefully.
